The homeowners saw the beautiful potential in their new property but struggled with its difficult layout. The home suffered from a dark, cramped front foyer with a steep, pre-modern staircase, and a 1980s kitchen broken into completely disconnected spaces. As clients who aren't designers themselves, they needed an experienced design-build team who could take their functional needs and translate them into a breathtaking reality.

Execution Highlights:

• Grand Foyer & Statement Staircase: We eliminated the steep, cramped staircase and completely opened up the entrance. By redesigning the main stairway and installing a stunning barrel-vaulted ceiling, we turned a dark hallway into a grand, welcoming statement piece.

• Custom Functional Mudroom: We designed a brand-new, highly functional mudroom from scratch—perfect for storing kids' coats, shoes, and everyday essentials. We incorporated elegant butcher block shelving and countertops, subtly tying this space to the rest of the home's design.

• Double-Island Gourmet Kitchen: We removed the demising walls that cut the 1980s kitchen off from the dining and family rooms. To preserve the abundant natural light from the existing windows without sacrificing storage space, we introduced a unique double-island layout. The result is a gourmet space perfect for hosting large parties and cooking together as a family.

• The "Yusra" Experience (Ease): The core meaning of the word Yusra translates to "ease." We delivered on that promise by providing a completely stress-free environment from design to construction, communicating clearly and expanding the clients' initial ideas into something beyond their imagination.

By completely revamping the original layout and its disconnected rooms, we transformed this home into an open, airy masterpiece of functionality and style, perfectly tailored for modern living.
